Q1. If you were a cartoon character, which one would you be ?
One of my favorite animated movies of all time is Epic. Don't ask me why (probably because Josh Hutcherson voices Nod & as a teenage I had an INSANE crush on him). But I would definitely say M.K from Epic! I identify a lot with her confusion about where she fits in her world & how she underestimates her strength.
Q2. What's Your favorite part of weddings?
There is nothing more special than the moment before. When everyone is almost holding their breath and the groom looks like he is going to pass out a little from the waiting. I love watching the bride lock eyes with the groom and watching peace just melt away the anxiety. It's such a special moment and I have the hardest time not bawling my eyes out!
Q3. What's your favorite Movie and how often do you watch it?
My favorite movie of all time is Ever After. The movie staring Drew Barrymore. It is the perfect combination of beautiful cinematography, exquisite costuming and the most lovely storyline ever. (Plus the soundtrack is phenomenal, basically everything is a 10/10).
Q4. If your life was a sitcom, what would it be called?
The title would be "Everything & The Kitchen Sink". I try to do everything I possibly can. As a teenager, my top 3 day dream careers were movie director, therapist & a composer.

It all started the day I snuck my Dad's camera out of the bright yellow gorilla bag and took it into the backyard to take pictures of the epic fruit war going on (brothers vs. sisters obviously). I didn't know that I would be where I am today but that doesn't make me any less grateful. Photography bridges the gap between my two favorite things in this world.

Capturing memories that revive the emotions attached to them and talking people's head off... ok ok, I KID. But one of the most special parts of photography to me is the connection aspect. I love getting to know my clients on a deep and personal level. It allows me to capture their feelings & moments more intimately. To know people is to see them and if I can see who they really are, it helps me capture them in a raw and honest way. That is why I want to hear all about YOU. I want to shape my art around my clients not the other way around.

I started where most photographers do... taking every and any session I could get hired for and then asking all my friends to model for ideas I had. I remember doing so many dance groups that I would sometimes schedule 3 back to back to back. I didn't stay exclusively as prom photographer (thank goodness) and moved onto doing friends and family's senior pictures. I remember one winter and spring I had 56 senior session I was hired for.
I wish I could remember my first couple's session I ever had in great detail.... all I could remember is that I was so nervous, I thought I was going to be sick. But surprisingly, it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to go! I suddenly found myself feeling more excited for couples sessions than a portrait session. I said yes to every inquiry so I could get as much experience as possible. This is the year that I learned how much I loved photography and how it allowed me to meet. & connect with people I could not have met any other way.
I had done a humanitarian trip in Samoa in summer 2019. I became very close friends with one of the girls & she asked me to fly to Oregon to capture her small, intimate COVID backyard wedding. This was the moment I knew that wedding photography was something I wanted to do for as long as I possibly could. As nervous as I was, I could not have had a better wedding for my very first one. It was just a celebration of love with the ones that they loved most (& also it was during COVID so that might've been another reason...) but everything was beautiful and simple. We took some small bridals before the ceremony and the ceremony came and went quick. For dinner, Chipotle was catered and I just got to sit among laughing & happy family members. It was one of the most special days I have ever been a part of.
I felt that spark of passion after my very first wedding and it became the sole focus of my business. I fought so much self-doubt and my inner saboteur. Could I do this? Would people even hire me? Could I remember all that I needed to? Shoot, what if I forget to take this one shot? For my first couple weddings, I put everything I had into those days. I did my best to pay attention and get all the shots they wanted. I did not gain confidence fast but once I did realize that I, in fact, could do this, I felt my passion and my purpose grow. I felt calmer on the wedding days, I realized that capturing the memories of a wedding day meant observing and finding the moments filled with love, not how many angles I can get of one shot. It was about learning the names of the friends who supported them and the grandma who brought them a photo album. Weddings became more about connection and celebration than getting the most artistic shots.
I have been a full time wedding photographer since Feburary 2022. I have gone to so many different places for weddings and have formed amazing friendships with couples who I could have never met normally. My passion for photography and for weddings is still growing. My investment in capturing each and every love story personally is something that I take so much pride in. I want to be not only a photographer but a friend, a confidante, a tissue holder, stain remover, and sidekick to every client I am blessed to work with <3 This is not only my job but something that has become a part of who I am.
